The poem "I Want to Die While You Love Me" by Georgia Douglas Johnson is a poem that starts with a more optimistic tone and theme of eternal love. This is represented by the red color. As we progress through the poem the red fades and changes to a deep black contributing to the emotional and dark tone that the poem turns to by the end. It shows a happy story about love go to a poem about death and how she feels it is near her.
Music Choice:
We chose this music to represnent our choral reading because it portrays the cold and gloomy themes that Johnson portrayed throughout her poem "I want to Die While You Love Me". Although we did not put this in our video we thought that this selection of music best represnets the overall themes and concepts that Johnson was trying to pursue through her works of writing.
